Welcome to the high-stakes world of bathtub navigation. In Whatever Floats Your Boat, you’re at the helm of a toy boat in a massive, bubble-filled tub. It’s a whimsical arcade experience where the mission is simple: drift through the foam and pop every single bubble you can find. Fastest wins!
The Hardware Hack
The real star of this project is the custom controller. We built a physical steering rig featuring a pulley arm hooked up to a potentiometer. Turning the arm actually rotates your boat, giving you that perfect, tactile feel of real steering.
(Note: While the game is fully playable with a standard controller or keyboard, the intended experience is definitely with the custom pulley rig. If you don't have the rig, standard controls have you covered.)
Behind the Build
Created during the Global Game Jam 2025 (theme: Bubble), this was our take on combining satisfying arcade gameplay with some "garage-style" hardware engineering. It’s light, it’s bubbly, and it’s a whole lot of fun. Grab a controller and see if you can navigate the suds the fastest.
